Palloys Supports the Future of Australian Jewellery
As Australia’s oldest and most trusted name in precious metals and custom jewellery solutions, Palloys demonstrates its commitment to the industry’s future by supporting skills development among emerging jewellers. Through partnerships with WorldSkills Australia, TAFE and RMIT, Palloys helps foster a new generation of creative, highly skilled professionals.
A standout example is Lily-Grace Toohill, an apprentice jeweller from Meeniyan, who won Gold in Jewellery and was named Best in Nation at the 2025 WorldSkills National Championships and Skills Show. Competing against more than 600 entrants across 60 trades, her achievement reflects both her dedication and the high standards upheld in jewellery education and training.
Held in Brisbane and attended by over 35,000 people, the competition challenged young professionals to perform under pressure. In jewellery, participants had to create a complex 18K yellow gold pendant, with the design revealed just an hour before the challenge.
Thanks to industry support and access to quality materials, Lily-Grace excelled. “It was a good experience,” she said modestly. “It means I’m alright at doing some things.”
Behind the scenes, Palloys plays a vital role by supplying ethically sourced gold and supporting vocational institutions through technical training, CAD and casting education, and mentorships. This alignment of education and real-world practice bridges the gap between apprenticeship and professional independence.
Palloys’ involvement with WorldSkills is part of a broader strategy to sustain Australia’s jewellery industry. From ethical sourcing to refining and custom manufacturing, Palloys supports jewellers throughout their careers. Their collaboration with educators and apprentices creates a strong ecosystem for technical growth and business development.
Palloys’ dedication ensures the next generation of jewellers will be prepared; technically, creatively and professionally. Through consistent support, partnerships, and a focus on quality and integrity, Palloys is proud to help shape the future of Australian jewellery, one young craftsperson at a time.
